HOW THIS ALL STARTED...
Brendan & Amanda Torazzi were married in 2001 after initially meeting at our mutual friends party in Kirribilli in February 1998. The story goes that Brendan, who was 25 and about to have a a 26th birthday party handed Amanda a invitation to his Darlinghurst rooftop party. For Brendan it was love at first sight, Amanda, mmmm, was not so sure. As luck would have it, though they bumped into each other the following week on Oxford St and it wasn’t too long before they were together having a world wind romance (that continues through to today). Amanda came to the birthday party by the way. Three years later, they were married in a small ceremony at Camp Cove followed by a reception at Seans Panaroma in North Bondi.
TRAVEL
Brendan & Amanda love to travel. Back in 2000, before Airbnb was a thing they used to rent our their apartment in Potts Point to international guests and go travelling when other people were staying. We dreamed about opening a small hotel and all the wonderful things we’d include. Seacliff, whilst not a hotel, aims to give people those wonderful memories.
HOLIDAY HOME
Fast forward to 2015 and we were looking for some space for our 3 young boys to run around on weekends (we live on a small block in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney). We were originally looking at what now has become Dovecote but that got sold at the 11th hour (land only). Seacliff appeared shortly after and we were amazed that the view was similar but it already had all the infratructure.
WEDDING VENUE
We cosmetically renovated Seacliff. Shortly after our agent at the time got an enquiry for a wedding. They said you better get a DA. When we rang council, we found to our surprise that it already had that approval for 52 weddings a year (the selling agent had neglected to mention that). So that was the pivot, we started an instagram account and become the accidental wedding venue owners.
SEACLIFF HOUSE OWNERSHIP
