Can you stay on the property?
Yes when you are having a wedding, you book Seacliff House for a minimum stay of 3 nights. From November 2020, we have a second house on the property available which also has 5 bedrooms.
How many people does the property sleep?
The original 5 bedroom house sleeps 10-12 people.
When will the second house be ready?
The build starts in June 2020 and will be finished by November 2020. It will be 5 bedroom and 5 bathrooms. It will be two-storey set on the Northern side of the property overlooking the original house with amazing 360 degree ocean and dairy views. This will sleep an additional 10-12 people.
Are there other accommodation options?
The NSW South Coast has many DIY accommodation offerings in Gerringong, Gerroa, Kiama and Berry. All of which are about 10 minutes drive to Seacliff. For more information visit South Coast Holidays.

Is it possible to rent Seacliff out for accommodation only?
Yes during the week accommodation only is available. There are also certain times of the year (typically during school holidays) where the house becomes available – June, July, December, January.
Can we have an early check in / late check out?
Whilst there is no guarantees, ‘Generally speaking if there is no guests checking out or in we allow flexible check in and check out times.
What is included?
Seacliff House is a DIY wedding venue. You rent the house, grounds and Barn. You are able to hold your day in a way that you want using the beautiful NSW South Coast as your backdrop. We can recommend trustworthy suppliers. For more information see our friends page.
What is the maximum amount of people?
We permit weddings unto 130 people. Above that number is on a case by case basis.
Is your venue BYO food and alcohol? If so, do you charge a “corkage” fee
Yes we are not a licensed venue. There is no corkage charge. Guests and their contractors are responsible for service of alcohol and we charge no corkage fee.
Is there a cool room?
There will be a permanent cool room installed close to the caterers area from July 2020 onwards. Please check your original quote to see whether this is included as part of your package.
Are marquees allowed?
Yes but permission must be asked and given in writing. The Barn is part of our package offered as it is weather incumbent and generally more affordable. For more information see our page about The Barn.
Is there a noise limit?
We ask guests to be respectful of our neighbours. All music must be lowered by 10pm and turned off by 10.30pm. All guests must be off the property by 11pm.
Are my dates available – should I book in advance?
Weddings in peak months book out 15-18 months ahead. If you have your heart set on Seacliff and a particular date, you should book early. Check availability here.
When is the most cost effective time to get married?
Winter and mid-week are becoming more popular times to get married. You can save up to 40% as compared to weekend peak season weddings. Speak to us on 1800 442 388 for more information.
Do you host multiple weddings in one day or would we have exclusive use of the venue and surrounds?
There is a minimum stay of 3 nights for each wedding so you have the property exclusively during that period.
Do you allow live music (band)?
Yes but timings on noise apply.
Is there a curfew on amplified music or other noise restrictions?
Like many rural wedding venues we have an 11pm curfew.
Do you allow camping (for glamping tents)?
No.
Is the site accessible?
The accommodation is one level as is the Barn. There are two steps leading down to the ceremony area and pool.
When is a deposit due and what is the cancellation policy?
A 30% deposit is required to book your wedding. With a second 30% required 6 months prior and the final amount due 2 months before your day.

Is there a Seacliff House representative onsite?
We will our manager visit you on the day of arrival normally to answer any questions. On the day of your wedding there is normally someone onsite during the reception and then again at the end of the night to help with the shutdown procedure. We are on call should you require us to answer any questions.
How many people does the Barn hold?

We are hoping to have a cocktail style wedding instead of a sit down. Is that possible?
Yes it’s completely up to you how you want to run your day!
What are you food/drink packages?
Again it’s DIY so completely up to you how you would like to serve.
Is there a food preparation area?
Yes attached to the Barn but out of site.

What is the option in the event of rain or bad weather?
The Barn is perfect option for all weather conditions.
Do we have access to the Barn for set up on from check in?
Yes you will have access from the Barn from when you check in – a little closer to the date we confirm what time but standard check in is 2pm.
What about my suppliers – when do they need to remove their gear?
Generally speaking, third party contractors must have everything removed by the the time of your checkout.
What is the size of the Barn?
Roughly 9.5m x 24m
Do we have to clean up afterwards?
Whilst you do not need commercial cleaners, generally, the Barn should be left in a tidy state in the condition that is found.
Can we inspect the property?
Yes private appointments are available on request generally early in the week. There are strictly no walk-ins allowed.
Do you have open days?
We generally have an open weekend with local suppliers once a year. Please enquire with us as to the next one.
What does it cost?
Prices vary depending upon the length of stay, amount of guests, time of year and inclusions.

Are there any seasonal discounts?
Yes we have three seasons peak, shoulder and low season.
– Peak season is February, March, April, October and November. During this time it is a flat event rate no matter how many guests you have.
– Shoulder season is January, May, September and December. During this time there are lower event fee rates if you have a wedding smaller than 80 people.
– Low season is June and August. During this time there are reduced event fees available. Please enquire.
What about mid-week weddings?
We have a limited amount of mid-week wedding spots available during the year for smaller weddings up to 80 people. During this time there are reduced event and accommodation fees available.
What is the rough timeline on receiving the bond back post event?
Bond is a pre-authorisation on your credit card taken just before you arrive – it disappears automatically after 7 days assuming everything is good.
If NSW Health legislated restrictions are in place, preventing your accommodation and/or event booking from legally being unable to go ahead, the following policies are in place.
Cancellation within 3 months:
Under normal circumstances cancellation/postponement within three months would mean you forfeit 100% of deposits paid.
As the global pandemic is an unforeseen event out of anyone’s control, we are willing to offer alternative dates in the future, subject to availability and approval.
Funds paid to-date will be used as a credit note, and transferred to your new dates at the current pricing.
The loss to us in this case is significant as we are unable to rebook the cancelled dates.
The usual rebooking fee will be waived and will not apply given the global pandemic.
New dates will be offered up to 24 months from your original dates. Bookings are subject to availability and in almost all cases guests will need to take mid-week dates as we are heavily booked.
Cancellation within 6 months:
Under normal circumstances cancellation/postponement within six months would mean you forfeit 30% of the value of your contract.
As the global pandemic is an unforeseen event out of anyone’s control, we are willing to offer alternative dates in the future, subject to availability and approval.
The loss to us in this case is significant as we are highly unlikely to rebook the cancelled dates.
The usual rebooking fee will be waived and will not apply given the global pandemic.
Funds paid to-date will be used as a credit note, and transferred to your new dates at the current pricing.
New dates will be offered up to 24 months from your original dates. Bookings are subject to availability and in almost all cases guests will need to take mid-week dates as we are heavily booked.
Cancellation within 6 – 12 months:
If you wish to cancel/postpone your booking 6 – 12 months out, you would lose your initial deposit unless we can re-book the dates at the same rate.
The usual rebooking fee will be waived and will not apply given the global pandemic.
As the global pandemic is an unforeseen event out of anyone’s control, we are willing to offer alternative dates in the future, subject to availability and approval.
Funds paid to-date will be used as a credit note, and transferred to your new dates at the current pricing.
New dates will be offered up to 24 months from your original dates. Bookings are subject to availability and in almost all cases guests will need to take mid-week dates as we are heavily booked.
Cancellation/postponement more than 12 months out:
If you notify us of your intent to cancel more than 12 months ahead, we will refund your deposit minus the rebooking fee (refer to your T&Cs for this amount) once your dates are re-booked.
If you notify us of your intent to postpone more than 12 months ahead, we will book new dates up to 24 months from your original dates, plus the rebooking fee.
What is NOT considered a valid reason for cancellation due to COVID or other force majeure (Act or God) events?
1. Border closures or travel restrictions prevent only some of your event or accommodation guests, from attending your booked dates.
2. NSW Health restrictions affecting the way your event is conducted (eg. physical distancing, dancing, singing, alcohol etc)
How can Seacliff House accommodate my numbers under physical distancing restrictions?
The Barn under the one in four square metre rule fits 58 people. The Barn under the one in two square metre rule fits 110 people. Check Government websites at the time of holding your event. NSW Government COVID hotline is 13 77 88.
