Gerringong is a great destination for an outdoor wedding. The rural setting allows you and your guests to get away from everything and focus on your special event.
For your Gerringong wedding, the Seacliff House is an ideal spot (ok we’re biased!). With over 100 acres of dairy country views and spectacular ocean views it’s becoming quite a popular destination for wedding venue on the NSW south coast. Throughout the grounds, you will find a variety of lovely locations to exchange vows and spend time outdoors with friends and family. You can choose to hold the ceremony and reception entirely outdoors or utilise the Barn.
The Barn offers versatility, allowing you to have the wedding that you’ve always dreamed of. You can hold your reception cocktail-style, using both the barn and the outdoor space. You can even set up a dance floor in the Barn.
With a dance floor, the Barn accommodates 108 guests. For a cocktail party type of wedding, you can fit up to 180 guests. Barn Weddings are really popular at Seacliff.
Along with a spacious location for a wedding or reception, the barn provides views of the surrounding area, including the working cattle farm. The location is far removed from bustling city life yet it’s just two hours from Sydney.
Your guests will have many options for accommodations in the surrounding towns and cities, including Gerringong, Gerroa and Berry.
So Central
Seacliff House is just minutes from Gerringong. Despite its small size, Gerringong is a busy town with plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes for your out-of-town guests. You’re also just minutes from Berry, which is home to numerous trendy shops and bakeries. There’s also plenty of Gerringong Accommodation.
If you want a country wedding, Seacliff House is an award-winning wedding location. However, there are other NSW South Coast wedding venues in Gerringong.
Besides Seacliff House, you should check out Crooked River Wines. This winery offers award-winning dining and wines along with a 150-year-old fig tree.
With the vineyard as a backdrop, you have a beautiful spot to hold your special event. You may also choose to use the vineyard as one of the destinations for your wedding celebrations while holding the ceremony at the nearby Seacliff House.

Berry also offers several idyllic locations for a South Coast wedding. The village is home as well to several award-winning restaurants and boutique shopping.
Willow Farm is a great choice for a country wedding. The farm includes a large farmhouse that offers accommodations for ten guests. The grounds also include country gardens, a fig tree, a creek, and many other amazing spots for your wedding photos. The farm also has an entertainment shed that overlooks a large dam.

Bundara Farm is another option in Berry for those holding small weddings. This boutique wedding venue has a maximum capacity of 30 guests.
However, it also offers accommodations for everyone attending. Instead of holding your ceremony and reception on a single day, you can spread the celebration out over several days.

The village of Berry also has several destinations that may work as a wedding venue or for wedding celebrations such as the rehearsal dinner. Silos Restaurant Berry even offers an all-inclusive wedding package with personalisation options. The restaurant accommodates up to 200 guests.
Other South Coast Wedding Venues
Outside of the Kiama area, there are other South Coast wedding venues for your wedding celebration. For example, the Cambewarra Estate Winery is a popular spot for outdoor weddings.
Cambewarra Estate Winery is situated near the foothills of the Cambewarra Mountain in Bangalee. It’s about a two-hour drive from Sydney and offers a secluded destination for your special day. The Estate includes many locations for wedding photos.
The Estate also features a cellar door, a boutique studio apartment, and a function centre for holding indoor wedding celebrations. They also have their own restaurant so there is no need to leave the winery during your wedding.
If you’re planning a big wedding, there is plenty of space at the winery. For a cocktail-style wedding, they can accommodate up to 300 guests. For a formal sit-down event, you can invite up to 150 guests.
Further South
About 15 minutes from Jervis Bay, you’ll find the Bewong River Retreat. This is another secluded wedding destination situated in the forest. Along with privacy, you may get to enjoy seeing wildlife including kangaroos.
The Retreat recently built a new function centre to accommodate more guests. They also have bungalow-style accommodations and a drape-lined marquee for your reception. Keep in mind that you’re also just minutes from the white sandy beaches of Jervis Bay.
The luxury bungalows are also a wonderful choice for your honeymoon. After a wedding ceremony at Seacliff House or the Cambewarra Estate Winery, you can make the trip to Bewong. While at the retreat, you can enjoy a spa with a full view of the bush and your own complete gourmet kitchen. The bungalow even has its own balcony with a BBQ.
Another riverside venue is the Terara Riverside Gardens. This private location includes a large marquee and a rustic barn. While the location only has four double-bedroom accommodations, there are many destinations in the surrounding areas for your guests to stay.
The Terara Riverside Gardens are also near the blue mountains of the Cambewarra Mountain Range and include five acres of land. Some of the other highlights of this destination include nearby churches and rustic settings for your wedding photos.
These are just a few of your options for South Coast wedding venues. Due to the beautiful beaches, green farmlands, and small villages located throughout the region, there is no shortage of outdoor wedding destinations.
